The Indian two-wheeler market in April 2025 continued to be dominated by trusted names, but sales data tells a story of mixed outcomes. While commuter bikes like the Hero Splendor and Honda Activa still led the charts, both saw significant drops in their year-on-year (YoY) numbers. On the other hand, scooters like the TVS Jupiter and bikes like the Honda Shine showed strong growth.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the top 10 best-selling two-wheelers in India for April 2025.

April 2025 Two-Wheeler Sales – Comparison Table

1. Hero Splendor – Still the Leader, But Losing Ground

Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor remained the top-seller in April 2025, but not without concern. The model registered 1,97,893 units, a sharp 38.34% drop from the 3.2 lakh units sold in April 2024. While it still commands the highest market share at 20.62%, the downward trend is noteworthy.

2. Honda Activa – Scooters Still Rule the Streets

The Honda Activa continued its run as India’s favorite scooter with 1,94,787 units sold. However, that’s a 25.1% drop from the same month last year. Despite this, it maintained a strong 20.30% share, solidifying its second-place standing.

Bucking the downward trend, Honda Shine posted 18.3% YoY growth, climbing from 1,42,751 to 1,68,908 units. This commuter-friendly bike secured the third spot and is becoming an increasingly popular choice in the 125cc segment.

4. Bajaj Pulsar – Sports Appeal, but Lower Numbers

The Pulsar lineup saw a decline of 14.36%, slipping from 1,44,809 to 1,24,012 units. Despite the dip, it continues to be a top performer in the sporty commuter category, holding fourth position.

Overall Market Snapshot

Combined sales of the top 10 models in April 2025 stood at 9.59 lakh units, down by over 84,000 units compared to April 2024 which is not good. This marks an 8.07% YoY drop, reflecting a broader trend of cautious consumer sentiment and evolving buying preferences in the two-wheeler space which is worrying some auto experts.

Conclusion

April 2025’s two-wheeler sales presented a mixed bag — while legacy leaders like Hero Splendor and Honda Activa saw declines, while models like Honda Shine and TVS Jupiter showed strong growth potential. As the market moves toward premium 125cc options and feature-rich scooters, manufacturers will need to adapt quickly to maintain momentum.  It looks like newly launched TVS Jupiter is gaing market share at the expense of Honda Active while Honda shine taking the market share of Hero Splendor. In this Hero Moto Corp is bleeding market share and loosing market leadership.
